The Wolves will continue their two-man rotation on back-to-back games tonight in New Orleans and Wednesday in Dallas: Kevin Garnett will play and rest on Wednesday, Nikola Pekovic rests tonight and plays tomorrow.

That's because Garnett prefers to play the first night of back-to-backs, so tonight that means he'll draw defensive-minded Omer Asik while Pekovic gets Zaza Pachulia in Dallas.

Pekovic currently is on an 18-minute per game time limit and isn't playing games on back-to-back nights while he comes back from April surgery on his Achilles tendon.

The Pelicans did not shoot around this morning because they played an MLK matinee yesterday in Memphis, losing 101-99 to the Grizzlies.

Tonight's game is on NBA TV as well as FSN locally.

The Wolves tonight are looking to build a little momentum against a 13-27 Pelicans team that was expected to build off last year's playoff season but, primarily due to injuries, hasn't come anywhere close this season under new coach Alvin Gentry.

Tonight's brings together fellow Kentucky No. 1 overall picks Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Davis, who first met in a Team USA-Dominican Republic game in Las Vegas in 2012 when Towns was just 16.

Btw, Towns, Tyus Jones and Nemanja Bjelica all did their rookie duties after this morning's shootaround at Smoothie King Center: All three fetched balls their teammates kicked into the stands. Zach LaVine tried to drop-kick one into the top row and nearly whiffed, but avoided, as far as I could tell, pulling a hamstring.
