Gophers update: The Gophers have managed to win both WNIT games despite star guard Rachel Banham missing significant time in each game — because of foul trouble in the first game and an injury against Southern Methodist. The result against SMU was balanced scoring. Senior G Sari Noga had a career-high 22 points, sophomore G/F Kayla Hirt had 12 points and G Mikayla Bailey had her first career double-double. Freshman C Amanda Zahui B. needs five rebounds to become the leading single-season rebounder in Big Ten Conference history. The Gophers were 4-7 in away games this season but 3-1 in their last four.

Jackrabbits update: South Dakota State was the regular-season Summit League champion, but was upset in the conference tournament. SDSU is 16-0 at home this season and, among their notable victories, was a four-point win over Big Ten champ Penn State, a 12-point win at Wisconsin-Green Bay and their most recent WNIT win against Creighton. SDSU is 15-2 in its last 17 games. The Jackrabbits' roster includes eight players from Minnesota, including G/F Megan Waytashek, the former Centennial star who leads the team in scoring (11.5 points), F Mariah Clarin, who is third in scoring (8.9) and G Gabrielle Boever (fifth, 6.3). The Jackrabbits use a rotation that goes nine deep.
