Winter meetings primer for Day Two

The Twins are looking to bolster their pitching staff during the winter meetings at National Harbor, Md., this week.

Some things to keep in mind as the Twins head into the second full day of the winter meetings:

Was told last night (OK, early this morning) that the Yankees interest in Brian Dozier is not that significant.

Brian Dozier has not been named to Team USA for the World Baseball Classic, but he remains on their watch list.

Dozier met with Derek Falvey and Thad Levine last night and made it clear how much he wants to stay and be part of the solution in Minnesota.

The agent for reliever Ryan Pressly hopes to meet with the Twins today or tomorrow to try to work out a contract.

The Twins have spoken with Miguel Sano's agents and are confident that Sano will report to camp fit and ready to play third base. My question to Falvey and Levine on this topic was. "So you are confident that Sano will report to camp in shape and not in a shape?"

Although Harrison Bader will likely play in center field when Byron Buxton is given a day off, Bader more likely will play in left when the Twins face lefthanded starters.
