Don't even bother trying to find a $13 California cab as good as the Viña Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon. Red fruit, meat and herb/olive notes beam through on the nose and palate, and there's nice grip and texture all the way through the smooth but stout finish. It's a wonderful introduction to Chile's impressive array of cabernets. Try this with all manner of beef, from burgers on up, or with roasted winter veggies.
