WINDOM, Minn. — A beef processing facility in southwest Minnesota is closing.

The Worthington Daily Globe (http://bit.ly/1REMtaF ) reports PM Beef in Windom will end operations in mid-December. PM Beef employs about 260 people. The community has long been home to a beef processing plant. Caldwell Packing operated the facility before PM.

City administrator Steve Nasby says he's been in touch with state employment officials about workers who will be displaced by the closure. Nasby says he's also concerned about the economic impact on city revenue, since the facility accounts for 39 percent of wastewater revenue and 23 percent of sewer revenue.
