Preview: The Wild completes its fourth set of back-to-back games this month. It lost the second game of the previous three back-to-backs and is 2-4-3 in the second of back-to-backs this season. The Wild has lost five of its past eight in L.A., including in overtime in October. The Kings, who have won Stanley Cups in two of the past four seasons, are back on top after a down year in 2014-15. They lead the Pacific Division and are 9-2-1 in their past 12.

Players to watch: Wild C Jarret Stoll faces the Kings for the first time since signing with the Rangers last offseason. Stoll won two Cups in seven seasons with the Kings. Coach Mike Yeo said he is leaning toward starting Darcy Kuemper in goal. Kuemper, who lost to New Jersey in his last start, was 4-0-2 in December. Kings C Anze Kopitar, who just signed an eight-year, $80 million extension, ranks 19th in scoring with 40 points. C Tyler Toffoli is tied for sixth in the NHL with 22 goals. RW Marian Gaborik has only 17 points in 45 games. He is the Wild's all-time leader with 219 goals, 59 power-play goals and 1,694 shots and ranks second with 437 points in 502 games.

Numbers: The Kings have allowed the fewest goals in the Western Conference, averaging 2.20 goals-against per game. The Wild ranks third in the West at 2.33 goals allowed per game. … The Kings have the fifth-best power play in the NHL at 21.5 percent.

Injuries: Wild LW/RW Ryan Carter (hand) is out. Kings D Matt Greene (shoulder) and LW Kyle Clifford (lower body) are out.
