THREE KEY RETURNEES

MarQueis Gray: He might have NFL potential as a receiver, but he prefers to play quarterback. An offense designed around his running ability could turn things around quickly.

Da'Jon McKnight: The Gophers' most reliable receiver, and their most spectacular, too, he leads the Big Ten with 10 touchdown catches.

Gary Tinsley: The junior linebacker settled into an impact role in the middle, making 10 or more tackles five times.

THREE KEY LOSSES

Adam Weber: The school record-holder in nearly every passing category, the Gophers might miss his calm leadership just as much.

D.J. Burris: Fixture in the middle of offensive line for four years, the senior center takes 45 games of experience with him.

Kyle Theret: Second on the team in tackles despite a two-game suspension, the safety held together a young Gophers secondary.
