Haus Salon introduced an in-house blow-dry bar last month and reports that business is booming, because clients are catching on to the trend, loving the price point and spreading the word. $30. 4240 Nicollet Av. S., Minneapolis, 612-827-4287.

Blast Blow Dry Bar is opening two locations later this spring: at the Shops at West End in St. Louis Park and Aloft hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Opening soon at 1668 West End Blvd., St. Louis Park, and 930 Washington Av. S., Minneapolis, 1-855-662-5278.

The Wow Bar is coming to the 50th & France shopping district and will boast an all-star team that includes one of the Twin Cities' best known stylists, Jason Deavalon, and beauty industry guru Rick Goldberg, who co-developed Cost Cutters, developed lines for Target and CVS, and has consulted with Aveda. $35. Go to thewowbar.com to get on the mailing list for updates.

Lush Day Spa and Salon began offering a happy hour blow-dry bar last month to cater to busy downtown Minneapolis clients. From 2 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, professional blowouts are available for $25. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended on Thursdays and Fridays. 811 LaSalle Av., Suite 212, Minneapolis, 612-354-2697.

* Most salons offer blowouts, but a few in the Twin Cities that are known for being exceptional are: Jon Charles Salon in Wayzata and Uptown, Trés Jolie Salon in Minneapolis and Accolades Salon and Spa in St. Paul.
