Community Homestead fundraiser

Community Homestead is a 240-acre organic farm, but also a nonprofit rural community of six homes in Osceola, Wis., in which adults with special needs live in extended-family households. Together, they operate a dairy farm, CSA garden, orchard, bakery and woodshop. A country banquet to raise money to support the community will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the farm. Five chefs from the Culinary Arts Program of St. Paul College are donating their time to create a four-course meal from the farm's food, including artisan cheese, charcuterie, ragout of beef and fennel confiture on potato gnocchi, roasted vegetables, wine and more. SOS is HOT

Share Our Strength, which works to end childhood hunger, hosts its annual Taste of the Nation HOTlist fundraiser from 7-10 p.m. Monday at the Guthrie Theater. Local chefs and mixologists will offer food and drink enthusiasts a chance to taste an array of foods and sip beer, wine and signature cocktails while bidding on silent auction items such as the chance to be an unpaid line cook for a day at the Strip Club. Twin Cities Originals July 26

Tickets go fast for the annual Taste of the Twin Cities Originals event, now in its seventh year. This year's tasting July 26 at TCF Bank Stadium will feature live music, cocktails, craft beers and 20 wines paired with foods from 20 Twin Cities restaurants. Tickets are $50 and include a Riedel crystal wine glass. Need another angle? Memorial Blood Centers are supplying "iron-rich food recipes." Got Milkapalooza?

Cedar Summit Farm is hosting Milkapalooza from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its farm at 25830 Drexel Av. in New Prague, Minn., about 45 minutes southwest of the Twin Cities. Local cheesemakers and beekeepers will be on hand, and there will be games, live music, farm tours, pony rides, food for purchase and more. The free event is designed for families. Plus, you can try their new drinkable yogurt.

'Like' iced coffee?

Today is free iced coffee day (until 4 p.m.) at all Bruegger's locations to celebrate the first full day of summer and raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
