Fresh off his victory in the courtroom and a casual round of golf amid a gorgeous week of weather in Minnesota, former Gov. Jesse Ventura debuted his podcast, "We the People with Jesse Ventura."

Made available through Carolla Digital, Adam Carolla's podcast network, the show premiered Thursday. It's available for download on Carolla Digital and iTunes on a weekly basis.

The first guest of the podcast was Carolla. Questions were compiled from Ventura's Twitter and Facebook followers. Topics discussed included Ventura's take on Pope Francis and the "birther" debate concerning President Obama.

"My fans have requested a podcast for some time now," Ventura said in a statement Thursday. "I find it to be a new, interesting and innovative way to communicate with them."

Since January, Ventura has been broadcasting a Tuesday-Friday online show called "Off the Grid." More recently, he was in federal court in the Twin Cities, where he won a $1.8 million defamation judgment against the estate of author Chris Kyle. After most of the jurors sided with Ventura, he relaxed with a sun-drenched round of golf.
