Minnesota will play host to Syracuse on November 29 in the annual ACC/Big Ten women's basketball challenge, it was announced today.

Syracuse was 22-9 last season, but suffered a 27-point loss to Oklahoma State as an eighth seed in the first round of the NCAA tournament in March. The Gophers, a No. 7 seed, defeated Green Bay in the first round of the tournament and then lost to No. 2-seed Oregon 101-73 in the second round.

That was the last game as Gophers coach for Marlene Stollings, who left for Texas Tech and has been replaced by Lindsay Whalen, the point guatrd for the Lynx.

The game time and TV information has yet to be announced.

Minnesota is 4-7 all-time in the event. The Gophers got off to a 7-0 start last season before losing 88-83 at North Carolina in the 2017 Challenge.

The Gophers will play at Boston College on Nov. 26 in the men's ACC/Big Ten challenge.

The remaining schedule is favorable, but their hopes of a late-season run were dulled by a home loss to the Terrapins.
