Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen has been named to the WNBA all-star team, replacing Becky Hammon of San Antonio. Hammon injured a quadriceps muscle on Thursday in the Silver Stars' 89-66 loss to the Lynx. Whalen, a former Gopher, was acquired by the Lynx in an offseason trade with Connecticut. She is averaging 10.8 points and 5.0 assists.
Lynx forward Rebekkah Brunson was chosen for the team by league coaches earlier this week.
The WNBA all-stars will play the U.S. women's national team at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
