International School plans hunger event The International School of Minnesota is sponsoring its second annual "ISM Against Hunger" event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at the school, located at 6385 Beach Road in Eden Prairie.
The event, with the theme "ISM Against Hunger Goes Local," will feature a giant yard sale. Proceeds will go to purchase 2,400 holiday meals to be distributed through the Twin Cities agency Hope for the City. International School students will pack the meals on Dec. 17 for delivery.
Last year, ISM students, faculty and families, working with the organization Impact Lives, raised money to pay for 285,000 meals and packed them for shipment to the Dominican Republic.
The Student Life Organization at the school leads the effort.
The yard sale will include electronics, housewares, clothing, jewelry, athletic equipment, furniture and toys.

Blessed Trinity begins fundraiser Blessed Trinity Catholic School in Richfield has launched its annual 2010 Marathon fundraiser to raise awareness of the need to financially support parochial education.
The Marathon fundraiser is the school's most important each year, bringing in more than half of the $115,000 Blessed Trinity needs to raise during the school year.
Marathon Day is scheduled for Oct. 1 at the school's Penn Campus, 7540 Penn Av. S. During the all-day event, students will participate in a service project for the three Richfield Catholic parishes and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Blessed Trinity is celebrating 16 years of operation since it merged three Catholic grade schools in Richfield; it is now a two-campus school, with preschool through grade 3 at the Penn Campus and grades 4-8 at 6720 Nicollet Av. S. in Richfield.
