Suspicious activity: Someone called police to report seeing circles of lights in the sky and thinking it was a UFO. Officers arrived and advised the caller that the lights were coming from Mystic Lake Casino.

JULY 31
Drugs: A 15-year-old boy was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 6700 block of York Avenue S.
AUG. 2
Theft: Tires and wheels valued at $4,295 were stolen from the 3400 block of Edinborough Way.
AUG. 4
Assault: A 45-year-old Edina woman on suspicion of assault and obstructing the legal process in the 5400 block of Vernon Avenue.
AUG. 5
Underage consumption: Three 19-year-old Edina females were arrested for underage consumption of alcohol in the 6700 block of France Avenue S.
HOPKINS
AUG. 23
Animal complaint: Someone called police to report a raccoon was in a parking lot in the 700 block of 5th Street S. Officers were unable to locate the raccoon.
INDEPENDENCE
JULY 31
Animal complaint: Someone reported cows standing near the road on County Road 92 and Lyndale. An officer checked and found the cows were contained behind a fence.
MAPLE GROVE
AUG. 4
Suspicious activity: Officers responded to the 6200 block of Ranier Lane regarding a person hiding in the bushes. Officers located the person, who was trying out his homemade Ghillie suit for hunting.
AUG. 6
Burglary: Jewelry and electronics were stolen from a home on the 15700 Gleason Lake Drive. Suspects gained entry by smashing the sliding glass door.
MEDINA
JULY 29
Drugs: A 61-year-old Rockford man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on County Road 101 and Hackamore Road.
JULY 31
Vandalism: Someone put an unknown substance in a resident's gas tank on a vehicle in the 4600 block of Bluebell Trail N.
Drunken driving: A 27-year-old Medina man was arrested for drunken driving after an officer observed him drive his ATV on a public street and railroad tracks on Pinto Drive and Hwy. 55.
AUG. 5
Animal complaint: A resident of the 4700 block of Medina Lake Drive reported stray cats in the area. An officer advised the resident to stop feeding the cats and leave them alone in hopes they move on.
PLYMOUTH
AUG. 5
Property damage: A woman reported that someone threw some type of cooking sauce on her deck in the 2500 block of Lancaster Lane.
RICHFIELD
AUG. 12
Assault: A 30-year-old Brooklyn Park woman was arrested for assault in the 7700 block of 12th Avenue S.
AUG. 14
Drunken driving: A 47-year-old Richfield man was arrested for drunken driving after he allegedly tried to hit two people with his vehicle in the 100 block of 78th Street W.
AUG. 17
Drugs: A 63-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, both of Minneapolis, were arrested for possession of marijuana and warrants following a traffic stop on 18th Avenue and Diagonal Boulevard.
