Weekend warriors can get a small sense of what it's like to play in the Super Bowl on Saturday.

U.S. Bank Stadium will play host to an obstacle course race called the "Badass Dash," one of many permutations of the popular races that have contestants overcoming a series of challenges from climbing walls, mud pits and rings of fire. The Badass Dash features more than 40 obstacles that vary depending on the location of the event.

The Twin Cities has seen other similar events, but this is the first Badass Dash to come to town — and the first such race in the 10-month-old stadium.

The 7-kilometer contest will start on the building's western plaza. The race will take place on the park outside and the field inside the stadium. The field's turf will be covered for the event.

Dogs are welcome at this race for those who choose the canine companion category. The other three categories are elite, recreation and kids.
