(Winner gets No. 16 seed in East)

• Texas-San Antonio (19-13), the Southland Conference champion, features an NBA-caliber talent in guard Devin Gibson (17.0 ppg, 5.6 apg), the Roadrunners' only senior. The SWAC champion Hornets (17-17), who get 12.5 points per game from F Tramayne Moorer, overcame a 2-10 start to the season to qualify for their second NCAA trip in three years.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA VS. VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH

8 p.m. in Dayton, Ohio • truTV

(Winner gets No. 11 seed in Southwest)

• The Trojans' 19-14 season includes a 73-56 victory over Texas on Dec. 5; F Nikola Vucevic averages a double-double (17.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg) and F Alex Stepheson nearly does (10.0 ppg, 9.2 rpg). VCU (23-11) doesn't have nearly the quality of victories USC does, though the Rams did beat UCLA 89-85 on Nov. 26. They also defied the odds by getting an invite despite going 3-5 down the stretch.
