Indiana grabs share of first place

• NO. 22 INDIANA 80, NEBRASKA 64: The Hoosiers (21-6,11-3 Big Ten) moved into a tie for first place in the conference with Iowa by beating the visiting Cornhuskers. Troy Williams led Indiana with 18 points and the home team outscored Nebraska 17-6 at the free throw line. Jack McVeigh scored 17 points and Andrew White 15 for the Cornhuskers.

• NO. 8 XAVIER 85, NO. 23 PROVIDENCE 74: Trevon Bluiett scored 17 of his 23 points during the Musketeers' big first half, and Myles Davis had a triple-double as host Xavier (23-3, 11-3 Big East) held on for a victory over the Friars (19-8, 7-7)..

• NO. 1 VILLANOVA 83, TEMPLE 67: Jalen Brunson, the son of former Temple star Rick Brunson, scored a season-high 25 points, leading the Wildcats over the Owls. Daniel Ochefu had 16 points and nine rebounds and Kris Jenkins added 15 points as Villanova (23-3) won its sixth game in a row.

• ST. JOSEPH'S 79, NO. 15 DAYTON 70: DeAndre' Bembry had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and the Hawks (22-4, 11-2 Atlantic) beat the visiting Flyers (21-4, 11-2) for a share of the conference lead with them and VCU.

• NO. 6 MARYLAND 76, MICHIGAN 56: Brionna Jones scored 20 points and the Terrapins (24-3, 13-2 Big Ten) overwhelmed the visiting Wolverines (15-11, 7-8) in the second half. Maryland outscored Michigan 25-14 in the fourth quarter.

• ILLINOIS 76, WISCONSIN 56: Chatrice White had 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Illini (9-17, 2-13) past the host Badgers (7-18, 3-12). Dakota Whyte led Wisconsin with 31 points.

• PENN STATE 73, NORTHWESTERN 54: The Nittany Lions (10-16, 5-10) built a 41-20 lead by halftime in routing the host Wildcats (14-13, 3-12). Lindsey Spann had 18 points to lead Penn State; Nia Coffey had 14 points for Northwestern.
