Web Gem: Sonic Boomers

February 15, 2009 at 5:16AM

Bill Bentley, longtime music-biz publicist for Neil Young and others, has started a website for his generation, the baby boomers. Sonicboomers.com reviews new albums (Marianne Faithfull, Derek Trucks Band), reprints old articles (a 1973 interview with Diana Ross), posts lists (Al Kooper's 10 favorite soul albums), links to relevant content elsewhere (top 10 all-time love songs at www.aarp.org) and lets veteran critics pontificate (Roy Trakin's regular Boomerangst). In evaluating this year's Grammy show, Trakin concluded: "If you couldn't find something to enjoy on [the] Grammy telecast, well, you just don't like music." If you can't find something to enjoy on sonicboomers.com, well, go back to "Guitar Hero."
