Gardiner's hat trick helps Badgers tie NONCONFERENCE

• MICHIGAN 4, WISCONSIN 4: Jake Gardiner's third goal of the game 49 seconds into the third period helped the Badgers salvage a tie with the Wolverines (8-3-4) in the College Hockey Showcase on Friday in Madison, Wis. Michigan led three times, including 2-0 in the first period. But the Badgers kept coming back on Gardiner goals. The former Minnetonka High School athlete, a 2008 first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks, scored at 43 seconds of the second period to tie the score at 2-2 and at 11:31 of the second to make it 3-3.

• NORTH DAKOTA 6, NOTRE DAME 3: Jason Gregoire scored two third-period goals and also had an assist as the Sioux beat the 11th-ranked Irish (9-4-1) in Grand Forks, N.D. North Dakota scored two goals in each period. Aaron Dell made 27 saves for UND, including 17 in the third period. Hill-Murray product Ryan Guentzel scored an unassisted goal for Notre Dame.

• MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 8, MASSACHUSETTS-LOWELL 3: Justin Jokinen scored three goals to lead the Mavericks over the host Riverhawks (2-9-2). Rylan Galiardi had two goals and an assist and Michael Dorr added a goal and two assists for the Mavs, who scored five second-period goals.

• NORTHERN MICHIGAN 4, BEMIDJI STATE 0: Reid Ellingson stopped all 37 shots he faced and the Wildcats (6-6-2) shut out the host Beavers.

• DENVER 6, LAKE SUPERIOR STATE 3: Drew Shore had three goals and an assist as the host Pioneers beat the Lakers (5-8-2) in the Denver Cup.

CONFERENCE

• ALASKA ANCHORAGE 4, COLORADO COLLEGE 3 (OT): Tommy Grant scored 3:50 into overtime in Colorado Springs as the Seawolves stunned the Tigers in Friday's lone WCHA conference game. Matt Bailey scored twice for UAA, including a shorthanded tying goal with six seconds left in regulation.
