Suspicious activity/peeping Tom. A man smoking a cigarette outside the Afton House Inn, 3291 St. Croix Trail, caught another man on a balcony looking in the windows of the hotel. After being confronted, the man took off in a silver sedan with Wisconsin plates.

Suspicious activity. A deputy explained to a caller how to delete, from her smartphone, an e-mail about a court appointment she thought was suspicious.
HUGO

Suspicious activity. A man sitting in a pickup truck since 5:30 a.m. was reported in the 7000 block of 137th Street Court. The man told a deputy he was waiting for a sale to start in the area and figured he'd better get there early.
MAY TOWNSHIP
MARCH 28
Suspicious activity/Extra patrol request. A man reported during the course of a week several trees were cut down and a deer was taken off his property in the 13000 block of Northbrook Avenue. The Sheriff's Department agreed to send an extra patrol.
OAKDALE
MARCH 22
Suspicious vehicle. An officer checked on a vehicle at 2:40 a.m. that had been reportedly parked in the McDonald's parking lot, 7830 32nd St., for three hours. A man sleeping in the back seat told the officer he got tired and didn't want to drive.
Suspicious activity. A man with a flashlight tampering with a manhole cover at 11 p.m. was reported in the area of 3rd Street and Grenadier Avenue. An officer made contact with the man who was a plumber doing work nearby.
MARCH 23
Animal concern. An officer responding to a call about a wounded goose found one with an arrow in its back in the 6900 block of 55th Street. When the officer tried to kill it, the goose ran to a pond and swam away.
MARCH 25
Theft. A man left Twin Cities Pawn, 1021 Geneva Av., with two guitars without attempting to pay for them. The guitars were recovered outside the store, but police were unable to find the man.
PINE SPRINGS

Suspicious situation. A resident in the 7000 block of Pinehurst reported a woman in a pickup truck pulled into his driveway and told him her husband was abusive and she needed a place to hide the truck until her divorce was final. She then drove off.
WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP
MARCH 29
Suspicious situation. Someone on vacation in Florida reported receiving a call from a Colorado number informing them a pizza was being delivered to their Minnesota home. Authorities checked the residence and found everything secure.
MARCH 31
Suspicious activity. Two men in a vehicle were reported stopping at mailboxes in the area of 10th Street and Omaha Avenue. A deputy made contact with the men who were putting postcards for their irrigation business in the mailboxes.
WOODBURY
MARCH 25
Trapped in elevator. Police were called to Woodbury Estates, 2825 Woodlane Drive, on a report of a resident in a wheelchair stuck in an elevator because of a power outage. The Woodbury Fire Department freed the person.
MARCH 30
Suspicious activity. A man in a light blue van in the area of Alderwood Bay and Alderwood Drive reportedly told a 6-year-old boy he would give him money if he could use the boy's mother's cellphone. The boy did not bring him the phone and the man left before police arrived.
