An Eagan manufacturing firm now has a big new warehouse, thanks to Opus Design Build LLC.

The 41,872-square-foot facility at Chicago Tube & Iron is located near Lone Oak Road and Interstate 35. It provides the firm with more space for expansion. Opus declined to reveal the cost of the project.

"It was great to continue our relationship with Chicago Tube & Iron with this expansion," said Jeff Mertens, senior project manager at Opus Design Build, in a statement. "We were able to provide a design solution within the site constraints that allowed Chicago Tube & Iron to remain at their current location, helping retain employees."

In addition to expanding the warehouse, Opus updated it with an exterior insulation finishing system and remodeled existing areas of the facility. Interior remodeling included updating bathrooms and a break room, modernizing the front entry and replacing six overhead doors.Mechanical and irrigation systems were incorporated and signs added to the front entry and south end of the facility.

Donald R. McNeeley, CEO of Chicago Tube & Iron, said in a statement, "With the dramatic improvement this investment brings in our throughput capacity, we are in a stronger position than ever to service our customers and support new business growth across our markets in the upper Midwest."
