Wall, Wildcats recover in time to trip UNC • NO. 5 KENTUCKY 68, NO. 10 NORTH CAROLINA 66: Freshman John Wall bounced back from a bout with dehydration and a queasy encounter with an IV drip to finish with 16 points -- including the clinching free throws with 4.3 seconds left -- for the host Wildcats on Saturday. Wall added seven rebounds and five assists, dominating at times while helping the Wildcats (8-0) build a 19-point first-half lead. Then he spent 20 anxious minutes in the training room after cramping up. Wall and fellow freshman Eric Bledsoe combined to make five of six free throws in the final 30 seconds after the Tar Heels pulled within 63-61. "They really kicked our butts," UNC coach Roy Williams said. "They just ran us out of the gym." Deon Thompson led North Carolina with 14 points.

• WAKE FOREST 77, NO. 17 GONZAGA 75: C.J. Harris scored 19 points, and the visiting Demon Deacons (5-2) won a game that included several technicals and the ejection of Gonzaga's second-leading scorer and top rebounder. Gonzaga (6-2) was up 31-22 late in the first half when a flagrant foul by Bulldogs freshman Elias Harris on Chas McFarland led to his ejection and a seven-point swing that brought Wake Forest back to life.
