Vapor sites under investigation in Minnesota

When the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) investigate soil vapor issues there are a large number of volatile organic compounds that are included in the analysis of soil vapors. Some of the chemicals of concern often detected in these analysis include VOCs such as Perchloroethylene, Trichloroethylene, Benzene, Toluene and Xylene. These compounds are all commonly found in degreasing solvents. These compounds may not represent chemicals of concern at all the vapor sites, but they are a commonly detected.
