A serious fire in a utility pole has led to closures of a couple of Interstate 494 ramps in Plymouth at Carlson Parkway and Hennepin County Road 6 during Friday’s rush hour.
The pole was burning at the intersection of Carlson Parkway and I-494, the Minnesota Department of Transporation said.
As a result, officials closed the ramp from southbound I-494 to Carlson Parkway and also the ramp from Carlson Parkway to southbound I-494.
Carlson Parkway is exit 20, and for Hennepin County Road 6, it is exit 21.
The ramps off southbound I-494 were expected to be closed for three hours, opening by about 8:15 p.m., MnDOT officials said.
