A Minneapolis woman says she was attacked and beaten by two men who shouted derogatory comments to her about sexual orientation, KSTP-TV has reported.

The woman says she left work in the Minneapolis Uptown district Thursday night and was walking to a grocery store.

She says two men in front of her started calling her epithets referring to sexual orientation. She says before she knew what was happening, she was being beaten in the head and face and kicked repeatedly in the stomach.

She says the attack left her unconscious. When she awoke she called a friend, who called police.

She was taken to a hospital with a severe concussion.

Minneapolis police are asking anyone with information to call them.
