The Gophers had a flurry of signings early Wednesday morning, with Blaise Andries, Demetrius Douglas, Tanner Morgan and others making it official. But there are a few situations worth monitoring on coach P.J. Fleck's first national signing day at Minnesota.

First, Tyrone Chambers, a three-star defensive tackle from Lyndhurst (Ohio) Brush, was committed to the Gophers but has signed with Toledo, instead. Sounds like an academic deal there. He also had reported offers from Purdue, Mississippi and Iowa State.

Another announcement to watch is Robbinsdale Cooper's Eric Abojei, a three-star offensive lineman who could wind up heading to junior college instead of the Gophers.

Then there is Ihmir Smith-Marsette, a three-star cornerback from Newark, N.J., who is reportedly slated to announce his decision at 12:30 p.m. He was committed to the Gophers for a time, but Iowa and Rutgers are still in the mix.

Here's an updated look at the Gophers recruiting class.
