Update on Darko Milicic's raffle for charity: Deadline 10 a.m. today

Still time to buy your ticket

May 27, 2011 at 4:43AM

There is still time to purchase a raffle ticket to win Darko Milicic's 2004 NBA championship ring along with a trip to a 2011 NBA Finals game.

Milicic is using the raffle to raise money for the Zorana & Darko Milicic fund for Children With Life Threatening Diseases.

This cause is coming from Milicic's heart. In early summer of 2010 he and his wife read an article in a Serbian newspaper about children suffering from Batten's Disease, a terminal childhood disease. The kids were in desperate need of medical treatment, and the Milicics contributed the resources to get those children they care they needed. That meant traveling to China to receive stem cell treatment. In March of this year they established their charitable fund.

All proceeds from the raffle will benefit that fund and, in turn, will be allocated to hospitals and organizations addressing life-threatening childhood diseases.

Here is where you can go to purchase a raffle ticket. They are $2 each, and you need to purchase a minimum of five.

Thanks, and have a good week.
