Goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock and midfielder Juliano Vicentini will return to the Minnesota United for the 2016 season, the North American Soccer League team announced Monday.

The club picked up the option to extend Ndjock's contract, while Vicentini signed a new deal with the team. Contract terms were not disclosed.

Ndjock, a 25-year-old from Cameroon, joined United before last season and finished 2015 with 12 wins, eight draws and three losses. He had seven shutouts and a 1.09 goals-against average.

Vicentini, a 34-year-old from Brazil, returns for his third season with United after scoring two goals in 23 appearances in 2015. Loons players reported for preseason training on Monday.

Registration opens for Twin Cities Marathon

Registration for the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and six additional running events hosted by Twin Cities In Motion will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Twin Cities Marathon, which runs from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul, will be limited to 11,600 participants and held Oct. 9.

Twin Cities In Motion will also open registration for three other events the weekend of the marathon: the TC Family Events, TC 5K and TC 10K, which are Oct. 8. Registration for the TC 10 Mile, which is run the same day as the marathon, will open July 6.

The date for this year's marathon weekend is a week later than usual, because of the Ryder Cup being held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska the first weekend in October.
