The No. 1-rated Gophers women's hockey team won their 41st game in a row, beating St. Cloud State 2-0 on Friday at the National Hockey Center.

Minnesota (33-0, 27-0 WCHA) has only one game left, against the Huskies on Saturday afternoon, before the conference playoffs start. If they win again, they will become the first Division I women's team to go through the regular season without a loss.

St. Cloud State (9-21-3, 5-20-2) held the Gophers scoreless through the opening period despite being outshot 12-6.

But sophomore defenseman Rachel Ramsey got the Gophers' first goal at 2 minutes, 9 seconds of the second period. It was her eight goal of the season. Freshman forward Maryanne Menefee made it 2-0 on a power-play goal at 12:09. It was her 13th goal.

Amanda Leveille, giving Noora Raty a rare night off, had 24 saves for the Gophers.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
