Dani Cameranesi, who had a hat trick on Friday, and teammate Maryanne Menefee scored 25 seconds apart in the third minute of the game as the Gophers defeated Minnesota State Mankato 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Ridder Arena to sweep the home-and-home WCHA series.

Hannah Brandt scored midway through the opening period to make it 3-0 Gophers.

Rachael Bona of No. 2-ranked Minnesota (11-1-2, 9-1-2 WCHA) had the only goal the rest of the game. She scored on a power play in the 15th minute of the second period.

The winless Mavericks (0-13-1, 0-11-1), who lost 5-1 on Friday night in Mankato, were outshot 52-13.

Erin Krichiver had 48 saves for the Mavericks. The Gophers used two goalies. Sidney Peters stopped eight shots the first two periods, Shyla Sletta had five saves in the third.

Cameranesi, with four goals this weekend, now has 13 goals this season. Brandt has 11 goals. They rank 1-2 on the team. Brandt also got her 12th assist on Cameranesi's goal and leads the 23 points.

Minnesota will only get a short break before its next game. The Gophers will face St. Cloud State at 7 p.m. Monday at Braemar Arena in Edina in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame's Face-off Classic.

"It's really exciting for both us and St. Cloud but also the Edina hockey association," Gophers coach Brad Frost said recently. "Hopefully we'll get a great crowd with lots of young fans who aspire to play college hockey."
