The University of Minnesota athletics department hired two key officials Thursday from Syracuse, the same school Gophers athletic director Mark Coyle worked at last.
Rhonda McFarland was named the deputy athletic director and chief financial officer, John Cunningham the deputy athletic director for administration. Both held similar positions at Syracuse.
McFarland will work with budgets and finances, Cunningham on day-to-day administrative operations.
