Federal and local authorities today are offering a reward of up to $10,000 in an effort to find out who set off two bombs four weeks ago in a parked car in Oakdale..
The Life Time Fitness Reindeer Run marks its 20th year. The 5K run around Lake Harriet starts at 9:30 a.m. for runners and 10 minutes later for walkers.
Participants, volunteers and spectators are being asked to donate new, non-gift wrapped toys to help a child in need. The items are being collected by Toys for Tots. For more information, visit www.reindeerrun.com.
Later Saturday, about 400 to 500 runners are expected to navigate the 1.25-mile Santa Run on Nicollet Mall.
The event is sponsored by and raises money for Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance. Mid-Minnesota, with offices in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Willmar and elsewhere, gives free legal civil services to those who can't afford to hire their own representation.
Nicollet Mall will be closed in time for the 4 p.m. run. Caribou Coffee will serve hot apple cider and coffee to warm runners and spectators alike.
Also, dogs on leashes are welcome.
