Byron Buxton is not in the lineup today, but manager Paul Molitor said the center fielder is available off the bench. Buxton came up a little gimpy after running down Jake Smolinski's drive in the seventh inning and was limping a little in the clubhouse this morning. But Molitor said Buxton is good to go.

Molitor's plan, after yesterday's night/day game, was to start all the players who didn't start on Tuesday. But he kept Max Kepler in the lineup because the rookie continues to contribute. So Mollitor will see how far he can ride the wave.

With yesterday's night/day game lasting so long, Molitor let players report much later than usual to the park. Afterward, they will head down to Arlington to take on the Rangers in a four-game series before hitting the All-Star break. It's a family trip, so wives and children will be on the flight.

Another day, another former Twin. Tyler Ladendorf is starting at third base today. Ladendorf was a second round pick of the Twins in 2008. In 2009, he was traded to the A's for shortstop Orlando Cabrera and cash. The Twins were on their way to the postseason, but they needed a shortstop.
