Radiate!

Folks in and around Red Wing this weekend are going to have a show like few have seen. Jomama Jones, the mythical Amazon who is the alter ego of performance dynamo Daniel Alexander Jones, comes to town with her Bobby Halvorson-led band and backup singers the Sweet Peaches. They will deliver inspirational music — a throwdown for uplift, if you will — while teaming with some local talent, including the Red Wing Singers and Red Wing High School's Ovation Choir. "Radiate!" is that rare show that brings it all together — powerful rockin' music, simply phenomenal character acting and a poignant, exquisitely delivered story that asks questions that will touch every soul," said the Sheldon Theatre's executive director, Bonnie Schock. It's the first of two Minnesota performances for Jones, who will headline "Black Light" Feb. 2-12 at Penumbra Theatre. (7:30 p.m. Fri.-Sat., Sheldon Theatre, 443 W. 3rd St., Red Wing. $18-$30. 1-651-388-8700 or sheldontheatre.org.)
