The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul is bringing back the Twin Cities Polish FilmFest for the fourth time.

Part of the larger Polish Festival along SE. Main Street on the Minneapolis riverfront, the screenings run Friday through Thursday, mostly at the St. Anthony Main Theatre. They include classic and contemporary films as well as two free "Chopin Celebration" concerts (1 p.m. Sat. and Sun.) put on by local students and professional pianists.

Highlights range from "Shameless," a 2012 Polish drama about a brother-sister romance for which Agnieszka Grochowska won the Polish Film Awards' best actress, to "Chinatown," director Roman Polanski's Oscar-winning 1974 classic starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway.

"Poland has such a long-standing history of making good cinema that to just choose new ones wouldn't be doing it justice," said Eric Wilson, who coordinated the Film Society committee that made the selection. "We did our best to highlight some of the old ones with the new ones — and ones that appeal to more than just the stereotypical indie film fan."

The St. Anthony Main Theatre is hosting the concerts and all the screenings except Polanski's cult classic "The Fearless Vampire Killers," which will play for free on an outdoor screen at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Aster Cafe.

Movie tickets are $8.50 for the general public, $6.50 for students and seniors, and $5 for Film Society members.

In addition, there will be vodka tastings in the theater lobby at various times Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for the tastings will be sold at the Polish Festival grounds.
