Tweets in the night

TV critic Neal Justin tweeted Sunday night during the Academy Awards from @nealjustin. Here are some highlights:

7:40 p.m.: There will be a "mystery guest host" about halfway through show. Any guesses? Billy Crystal? Qaddafi?

7:45: Monologue is a stark reminder that comedy shouldn't be left to amateurs.

7:50: Can Tom Hanks do an audible and take over the show. Please?

7:59: What is going to come first -- a resolution in Wisconsin or Kirk Douglas naming the best supporting actress?

8:01: Who would have thought Melissa Leo would be the first to drop the F-bomb. I had my money on Russell Brand.

8:03: Justin Timberlake should have called on his SNL pals to write his material. This is turning into the Night of 1,000 Awkward Pauses.

8:15: Bardem and Brolin dressing like 1970s Steve Martin makes me wish he was back this year.

8:53: When announcer says "The Oscars will be right back," why does it sound like a threat?

8:58: James Franco appears fully aware that the show is bombing and doesn't care. Don't know if that makes him cool or a jerk.

8:59: Why is Cate Blanchett wearing purple armor?

9:06: Just saw Randy Newman in concert. He did 34 songs, but not his latest Oscar nominee. Sign he's aware that it's not one of his best.

9:20: At least Anne Hathaway is trying. Franco looks like he'd rather be shooting a soap opera.

9:27: Very mean of producers to showcase Billy Crystal and Bob Hope, making Hathaway and Franco look even worse.

10:00: In Memoriam skips Corey Haim. Corey Feldman is furious.

10:25: Am I crazy or would Sandra Bullock make a great Oscar host?
