Here she comes again
First, she celebrated her scrappy childhood in song; now she’s doing it on screen. “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” continues the country music legend’s exploration of her upbringing in a film that captures much of the kind of personal struggle and family bonding that once made “The Waltons” a hit. Jennifer Nettles and Ricky Schroder, who played Parton’s parents in last year’s TV biopic “Coat of Many Colors,” reprise their roles here.
8 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11
“Vikings” — the series, not the football team — returns for the second half of its fourth season, The drama, which left off with Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) licking his wounds after being defeated by his brother, takes a small leap on the schedule by moving to Wednesdays, and a giant leap in terms of storytelling. The drama now picks up in a new era with Bjorn Ironside preparing to set sail across the Mediterranean and Ivar the Boneless developing into one of history’s most feared warriors.
8 p.m., History Channel
Producers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck don’t appear on screen in the pilot for “Incorporated,” but their concerns about the potential ramifications of climate change are all over this stark pilot, in which a future America is divided by walls and starving for electricity, all because their ancestors didn’t take better care of the Earth. Despite the heavy-handed backdrop, there’s plenty of action in the first episode.
