Jay's moment

My guess is that Mark Twain would have had a lukewarm reaction to Jay Leno's brand of comedy, which isn't nearly as dark and scathing as the legendary author's best work. But let's not hold that against the former "Tonight Show" host, who is celebrated during "The 17th Annual Mark Twain Prize" with appearances by Garth Brooks, Kevin Eubanks, Jimmy Fallon and Jerry Seinfeld. Let me be clear: I'm still in the David Letterman camp (and later joined the Jimmy Kimmel fan club), but Leno worked hard for decades and entertained millions with his soft touch. He deserves more accolades — even if Twain would most likely rather paint a fence than show up for the ceremonies. 7 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2

I'll drink to that!

Jack Maxwell is my kind of vacation buddy. In "Booze Traveler," the South Boston native uses drinks to get an in-depth (and possibly blurry) look at local customs and traditions. Among his stops in this inaugural season: Armenia, Belize, Lithuania and Nepal. Hey, Jack. Stop by the Twin Cities. We'll keep a bar stool warm for you. 9 p.m. Monday, Travel

The fresh prince of the dance floor

My prediction that Alfonso "Carlton" Ribeiro would win "Dancing With the Stars" almost got derailed by a groin injury, but he has rallied and made the final cut. The three-hour season finale features a look back at the journey and crowns a champion. 7 p.m. Tuesday, KSTP, Ch. 5

The gang's all here

"Comedy Central's All-Star Non-Denominational Christmas Special" gives the network a chance to spotlight some of its star performers. It includes Derek Waters' ("Drunk History") alcohol-fueled version of "It's a Wonderful Life," Chris Hardwick ("@midnight") playing "Holiday Hashtag Wars" and Stephen Colbert delivering a unique holiday greeting. 9 p.m. Thursday, Comedy Central
