Steely Dan

Dan Rather's bitter breakup with CBS means the network won't be using his expertise to talk about the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination, but the veteran newsman will take center stage for "My Days in Dallas: A Remembrance With Dan Rather" (7 p.m., AXS).

Funny bunny

Animation may have advanced since the debut of 1988's "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" (7 p.m., Hub), but the film still feels fresh thanks to a witty script, a great performance by Bob Hoskins and an ending that reveals a villain so grotesque he'd make Freddy Krueger have nightmares.

Moms' day

"Whoopi Goldberg Presents Moms Mabley" (8 p.m., HBO) isn't so much a documentary as it is an appreciation, with Eddie Murphy, Sidney Poitier, Bill Cosby and Kathy Griffin all weighing in on the groundbreaking comic. Footage from such shows as "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" and "The Ed Sullivan Show" will have you in stitches.
