Special K

Kris Jenner, matriarch of the Kardashian family, launches "Kris" (noon, KMSP, Ch. 9), a weekday talk show in which the TV personality tries to prove that she's more than just a factory forewoman churning out reality stars. We haven't seen the guest list, but it's a safe bet that the first couple of weeks won't include a visit from her former son-in-law, Minnesotan Kris Humphries.

Afternoon delight

Looks like Oprah Winfrey is encouraging her fans to put down their precious books for a while and soak in some lowbrow soap operas. New episodes of "All My Children" (noon, OWN) and "One Life to Live" (2 p.m., OWN) will grace her cable network for the next 10 weeks.

Snow hazard

Turns out the snowboarding world consists of more than just Shaun White. "The Crash Reel" (8 p.m., HBO) documents the rise of Kevin Pearce, an ambitious athlete whose quest for Olympic gold got interrupted by a 2010 accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Filmmaker Lucy Walker has gathered some amazing footage — some stunning, some shocking.
