Come to Poppa

"Backpackers" (7:30 p.m.) follows two twenty-somethings as they take time off in Europe to drink beer, find a missing bride-to-be, hunt down a stolen journal and talk about the meaning of their lives. But mostly it's about drinking beer. The other new CW sitcom, "Seed" (8:30 p.m.), focuses on a man who meets the kids who may be a product of his sperm donation. Happy Father's Day, buddy! The final hour

The synopsis for the season finale of "24: Live Another Day" suggests that for Jack to save the world he must make a grave and unthinkable decision. Could this be the character's exit from the series? If it is, Chloe appears to be in great shape to pick up the slack. 8 p.m. KMSP, Ch. 9

Weird science

"Going Deep With David Rees" takes seemingly ordinary challenges — tying your shoes, making ice cubes — and turns them into weird, wonderful science projects that would make Bill Nye the Science Guy giddy with delight. The show's only problem is that Rees is a little over the top and not nearly as clever as he imagines. 9 p.m. National Geographic Channel
