A Starr is born

Even the Powerpuff Girls sometimes need a little help from their friends. In "Dance Pantsed" (6:30 p.m., Cartoon) Ringo Starr guest stars as Townsville's most famous flamboyant mathematician and performs the soon-to-be hit, "I Wish I Was a Powerpuff Girl."

Striking it rich

Discovery Channel enters the scripted market on solid ground with "Klondike" (8 p.m., Discovery), a fast-paced, well-acted film about the Yukon gold rush in 1897. The harrowing scenes, which include an avalanche and a dangerous journey down rapids, are well shot. The miniseries continues on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Coming home

Real-life foster mother Rosie O'Donnell guest stars as a social worker at a foster home in "The Fosters" (8 p.m., ABC Family), the well-intended series that boasts Jennifer Lopez among its executive producers. O'Donnell will appear in four episodes this season.
