The boys are back

This was supposed to be a down year for "Saturday Night Live" (10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11) due to the departure of so many veterans, but so far the season has been good fun with a strong roster of guest hosts and the smart addition of Cecily Strong to the anchor desk. The year wraps up with the always dependable Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake.

I love a parade

The holidays can make for strange bedfellows, as evident in "The 82nd Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade" (2 p.m. Sunday, WUCW, Ch. 23) featuring Stevie Wonder, William Shatner, Eric Estrada, Montel Williams, Kenny Loggins, LeAnn Rimes, Buzz Aldrin and the cast of "The Young and the Restless." If Holidazzle could have attracted a roster like this, maybe it would be returning next year.

On the road again

"Christmas in Norway With the St. Olaf Choir" (7 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2) finds our Minnesota students in Europe, where they'll perform Norwegian hymns, gospel spirituals and folk songs. In other words, don't expect to hear "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer."
