First Avenue Monday announced new dates for a pair of TV on the Radio shows that were postponed in April after the band's bassist, Gerard Smith, died of lung cancer.
The band will arrive in Minneapolis Aug. 30-31 -- part of 15 new dates added to the band's tour, including an appearance at the Pitchfork Fest in Chicago July 17.
Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, June 10. Tickets from the originally scheduled April 23-24 shows -- which were nearly sold out -- will need to be exchanged for new ones.
Both shows are $20, 7:30 p.m., 18-plus.
Smith (pictured at far left in the photo above) had played on TVOTR's new album, "Nine Types of Light," but was unable to tour this spring because he was undergoing treatment. The band canceled a handful of dates when he died April 20.
Fans anxious to hear how those songs sound live can get a taste here, from the band's recent appearance on NPR's "World Cafe."
