For years Julia Roberts has mostly coasted on charm and a 1,000-gigawatt smile (see: "Larry Crowne," her new movie with Tom Hanks). But in the 1995 comic drama "Something to Talk About" (7 p.m., WE) she sunk those gleaming choppers into a juicy role, leading a high-powered ensemble that included Robert Duvall, Kyra Sedgwick and Dennis Quaid as her cheating husband.

The wonder years

In the four-part series "Wonders of the Universe" (8 p.m., Science), Brian Cox, a physicist and former keyboard player for D:Ream, examines some of the great mysteries, including where do we come from, what is the nature of time and how come Snooki has a TV special about her life?

History buffs will want to put down their copies of the latest Abraham Lincoln biography to watch the "E! True Hollywood Story: Snooki" (9 p.m., E!), an examination of America's great patriot, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. That will be followed by a special on the guy who parked my car last weekend.
