Lost in space

Rod Roddenberry gets nostalgic about dad Gene in "Trek Nation" (7 p.m., Science), a documentary that is less about the "Star Trek" legacy and more about daddy issues. George Lucas, J.J. Abrams and Seth MacFarlane are among the celebrities who try to comfort poor Rod.

Just shoot me

Former Army Ranger Wil Willis looks at modern warfare in the new series "Triggers: Weapons That Changed the World" (9 p.m., Military). The first spotlight shines on the Colt .45, ironically nicknamed "The Peacemaker." Upcoming weapons include the howitzer, AK-47, the Tommy Gun and Naomi Campbell.

Starting over

"3rd Rock" rockers Kristen Johnston and Wayne Knight reunite for "The Exes" (9:30 p.m., TVL), a harmless, occasionally amusing sitcom about a divorce attorney (Johnston) who plays landlord to recently separated guys, including Knight and Donald Faison. Nothing special to see here, but it should make a nice companion piece to an all-new "Hot in Cleveland." (9 p.m.).
