Spelling Bee Finals; MTV Movie Awards

Spell binding Erin Andrews puts aside her dancing shoes to co-host "The 2010 Scripps National Spelling Bee Finals" (7 p.m. Friday, KSTP, Ch. 5), the one sporting event where being a nerd is a huge advantage. Those really fascinated with the event can catch semifinal action from 9 a.m. to noon on ESPN.

Bell hop "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell makes another side-splitting appearance on "Party Down" (9 p.m. Friday, Starz), but it's regular Lizzy Caplan who takes top prize when her character becomes obsessed with winning the company picnic. If you haven't already discovered this hidden treasure, you're missing one of TV's most hilarious parties.

You'll still love them tomorrow Two soft-rock legends make beautiful music together in "Carole King/James Taylor: Live at the Troubadour" (7 p.m. Sunday, KTCA, Ch. 2). While Taylor is his consistent fine self, it's King who really shines, whether she's pounding the piano on "I Feel the Earth Move" or making goo-goo eyes at the man who made her song "You've Got a Friend" into a hit.

Larks and recreation Aziz Ansari is preparing for his June 19 appearance in Minneapolis by hosting "The 2010 MTV Movie Awards" (8 p.m. Sunday, MTV). The star-studded event features performances from Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera; appearances by Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Perry's squeeze Russell Brand; and the inaugural presentation of the award for "Biggest Bad-Ass Star."
