TV critic's picks: Friday

"Superman II," Betty White on "SNL"

Second time around Long before Spider-Man and Batman dealt with an enemy called angst came "Superman II" (3:30 p.m. Saturday, AMC), a darker adventure than the original with Christopher Reeve dealing with a serious identity crisis. For the first time on TV, viewers can see the Richard Donner director's cut.

White's weekend Betty White may be one tough broad, but even she has her hands full this weekend as she stars in two "Golden Girls" marathons (5 p.m. to midnight Saturday, WE, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, WE) and handles hosting duties on "Saturday Night Live" (10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11).

Detective story Tom Selleck returns to one of his best roles for the sixth time in "Jesse Stone: No Remorse" (8 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4), once again proving that you don't have to don a Hawaiian shirt to solve a murder. Kathy Baker co-stars.
