Ricky Gervais, Louis C.K., Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock debate the finer points of comedy in "Talking Funny" (8 p.m. Friday, HBO), yet another example of how skilled comics are more thoughtful, well-read and insightful than we mere mortals.

Girls, girls, girls "Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country" (8 p.m. Friday, WCCO, Ch. 4) features the Judds, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Martina McBride debating the finer points of comedy. Either that or they'll sing a few numbers.

All in the family Before Snooki and Kim Kardashian, there were the Louds, the first stars -- and victims -- of reality TV. Diane Lane and Tim Robbins play the heads of the Santa Barbara family in "Cinema Verite" (8 p.m. Saturday, HBO), an informative but somewhat plodding re-creation of the 1970s PBS special, "An American Family." James Gandolfini steals the show as the producer who persuades the naive parents to invite cameras into their soon-to-be shattered house.
