"Celebrity Apprentice," "Undercover Boss"

Gone fishin' Jay Leno doesn't perform at Mystic Lake Casino until March 12, but last month he sent an "advance" team, led by Australian personality Rove McManus, to capture the flavor of the Eelpout Festival in Walker, Minn. The footage of Midwesterners jumping into freezing waters to kiss a slimy fish will be shared with a national audience on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" (10:35 p.m. Friday, KARE, Ch. 11).

Now hear this Gary Busey, La Toya Jackson, Dionne Warwick and Jose Canseco are among the hotheads blowing steam in a promising new season of "The Celebrity Apprentice" (8 p.m. Sunday, KARE, Ch. 11). If you have a hard time figuring out who to root for, consider Oscar winner Marlee Matlin. Not only is she one of the coolest customers on the show, but she's raising money for Twin Cities-based Starkey Hearing Foundation.

Ohio player What's the deal with mayors from Cincinnati? First, the city gave us Hizzoner Jerry Springer. Now Mark Mallory, the current mayor, is eager for a national spotlight, popping up on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last month, and donning a wig and mustache for this week's edition of "Undercover Boss" (8 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4). He poses as a municipal employee while desperately trying to hide his ego.

For the birds Mike Tyson goes from the ring to the rooftops for his new six-part series, "Taking on Tyson" (9 p.m. Sunday, Animal Planet), which looks at his pigeon-raising hobby and remarkable understanding of the pigeon world. Even more impressive: He restrains himself from biting off any bird ears.
